UCLA also has a prestigious School of Theater, Film and Television, and School of Dentistry. The Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center is one of the top-ranked hospitals in the country.

UCLA’s Southern California campus spans more than 400 acres and is located near the coast. A busy walkway known as the Bruin Walk connects the residence halls to the heart of campus. UCLA guarantees students housing for three years. The school offers more than 1,000 student organizations, including media groups and more than 65 Greek chapters, which represent about 13% of the student body.

UCLA fields both men's and women's teams in basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, tennis, track and field, volleyball and water polo. Male athletes also compete in baseball and football, while women can also join beach volleyball, gymnastics, rowing, softball, and swimming and diving teams. The UCLA Bruins compete in the Pac-12 Conference of NCAA’s Division I and are well known for their water polo teams.

Dining Information

Currently our “All-You-Care-To-Eat” residential restaurants are only open to those living in the on-campus residential halls located on the Hill due to the present shortage of staff. You can purchase meals and dine at our boutique restaurant locations which are The Study at Hedrick, Bruin Cafe, and Rendezvous using Easy Pay and Credit Cards.

UCLA has its own bakery, which produces roughly 95% of all baked goods served on campus. Having an in-house bakery allows these items to be made fresh daily with less sugar and salt, extra whole grains and no preservatives. It also reduces food waste because the team only makes what is needed.

Six of the Best Activities Around UCLA

There are plenty of great activities to take part in outside of academics while you study abroad at UCLA. Not sure where to start? Look at this list below for some of our favorite spots!

First things first, take a stroll through Bruin Walk. It’s the main pedestrian thoroughfare on campus and it’s always buzzing with activity. You’ll see street performers, students hanging out with friends, and a variety of food trucks.

If you are into sports, catch a UCLA Bruins game at Pauley Pavilion. Basketball and volleyball games are especially fun to watch.

 If you are not into sports, you can always check out the Hammer Museum. It’s a great place to check out contemporary art exhibits and it’s free for UCLA students.

If you’re looking for a place to study, the Young Research Library is a great option. It’s one of the biggest libraries on campus and it’s open 24/7 during the quarter. Plus, the view from the top floor is absolutely stunning.

If you’re looking for a fun night out, Westwood Village is the place to be. It’s a great spot for dinner, drinks, and movies. You’ll find a variety of restaurants and bars, as well as the famous Bruin Theater.

Last but not least, take a hike at the nearby Griffith Observatory and Griffith Park. It’s a great way to get some fresh air and enjoy the beautiful views of Los Angeles.

The UCLA Store @ Ackerman Union is located in the heart of the UCLA Campus. The UCLA Store features Textbooks, School Supplies, UCLA Apparel & Accessories, and the UCLA Computer Store.

What public transportation is available at UCLA?
